Hi there, my name is Trung. I grew up in Vietnam and I’m currently living in Vancouver, Canada. I go by the nickname Turtle.

I enjoy breakdancing, playing with twisty puzzles, binge-watching K-dramas, and learning to code.

I got a B.Sc in Computer Science from McGill University and am now working full time as a software engineer. My favorite classes at university were Theory of Computation and Operating Systems. I also think that I should have taken more math classes during my undergrad. It’s fine though because I’m trying to make up for it by self-studying in my free time.

From Fall 2018 until end of 2019, I was a research assistant at the Advanced Networking Research Lab at McGill, working under the supervision of Prof. Muthucumaru Maheswaran. My projects involved operating systems and computer networking, and some cloud computing. This was a fun experience and I learned so much from it :ok_hand:

I was a part of the competitive programming team that represented McGill University at ACM-ICPC 2020 and 2021. I got to meet some brilliant minds along the way, and our team also made it to the World Finals twice in a row :v:

I intend to use this site as a place to post personal notes about my daily life, shower thoughts, or some technical stuffs I find interesting. If you want to find out more about me or my work, follow me on Github or shoot me an email at trung.vuongthien (at) mail.mcgill.ca. I’d love to chat with you!

Til’ next time!
